“So it’s a challenge to the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) our traditional fathers, to the executive, legislature, our women, men, elders council, founding fathers. It is a time for fasting and prayer because we battle but not with flesh and blood, with principalities and powers. People have different alters, but we have God almighty, the owner of the entire universe, he that giveth power… we will further the good works of Mr. President. I know Mr. President, I know his good heart towards Nigeria and Ebonyi State in particular…”
Umahi, urged Nigerians from other regions not be afraid of Igbo Presidency, stating that Igbo man with lots of investments in different parts of the country was better equipped to develop the economy of the nation.
According to Umahi: “I went to see the leader of the party and President of the country. Buhari will be coming to Ebonyi in March. It is going to be a historic visit.
“I have found peace but I didn’t know the number of youths and leaders of this country waiting for this moment. I think it has pleased God for us to be in this moment.
“What happened in Ebonyi State is what no man should take credit. We have something to show for the calling of God. Let nobody’s heart fail him for the battle is of the Lord.
“Other aspirants are more qualified than myself but remember that I am David. I spoke to our father about the insecurity in the South East. I thanked him and re-echoed the issue of a political solution.
“There can be no development, the economic indices of this country will keep going down until the leaders of this country in a town hall meeting and dialogue, we all make up our minds and sit in a round table conference and decide. It’s a time to repent and build a future for our children and grandchildren.”
He assured Ebonyians that no project initiated by his government would be delayed.
“Anywhere I am I’m with calculator and my phone, Ebonyi project will be anchored properly if you doubt you can try me and see. It’s not matter of doing campaign, there is no project in Ebonyi State that is not in my head, and there is no money I will not know and will not discuss.
