The Engr. Chidi Ibeh led Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, yesterday, commended the governor of Abia State, Chief Okezie Ikepazu for demanding that the federal government should give leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, a fair trial.
The group also felicitated with the governor whose 57th birthday was on October 18, 2021.
In a release signed by the Secretary-General of Ohaneze, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki, he noted that it’s only a man of courage that can stand by another in times of trouble.
He wrote: “We felicitate with Abians on the 57th birthday anniversary of the Executive Governor of Abia, and wish to encourage him to always be on the verge of championing the Igbo reawakening and revivification Projects”.
“We are stunned that while other Governors vilified their son, Nnamdi Kanu, Governor Ikpeazu, accepted the burden of leadership in addressing the salient issues on the southeast marginalization and issues of IPOB.
“While some southeast Governors hornswoggle and hoodwink the Federal Government through bogus and Janus-faced denunciations and rebuke on the secessionist agitation in the southeast, only a courageous political leader will demand a fair trial for Nnamdi Kanu and ask Federal Government to dialogue with Ndigbo on Ipob”
“Ikpeazu is the answered prayer and hope for the future of Ndigbo, he has been seen as the new Sam Mbakwe of our time”.
“Ndigbo expects more actions from Ikpeazu as he steps into the shoes of Chief Sam Mbakwe as the new political leader of Igbo.
