Chairman, Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, (RMFAC) Engr. Elias Mbam, has debunked a Facebook post accusing him of signing a resolution rejecting the recent election of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
In a release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Obinna Udenwe, he said in the Facebook post titled ‘NDIGBO REJECTS PURPORTED OHANEZE NDIGBO ELECTION (BIAFRANS HAVE NO LEADER)’, Mbam’s name was listed as one of the signatories to a signed resolution of a Zoom meeting rejecting the election of Ohaneze Ndigbo as ‘farce and unacceptable to Igbo Nation’.
Udenwe reiterated that the RMFAC Chairman, was not invited to such meeting be it physical or online, adding that his boss was not privy to any discussion that arose from the said meeting.
He stated: “Engr. Elias Mbam is aware of the election that produced Prof. George Obiozor as the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo and has no reason to reject it.
“He therefore calls on Justice Okoro and any other person, groups or organization that may have conspired to add his name to such a publication to delete it with immediate effect.
“Engr. Elias Mbam enjoins the general public to disregard this publication or any other worded in such a manner as to infer that he is against the election of Prof. George Obiozor, as the handiwork of mischief makers.
