Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Ebonyi state, Barrister Uchenna Orji, in his Christmas message to Governor David Umahi, affirmed that the governor has built a new Ebonyi.
He called on Christians in Ebonyi celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, to reflect on their common history as a people, the shared values of gratitude, peace and love and the strong moral character of steadfastness and forthrightness which Ebonyians are known for.
Orji while thanking God for the modest achievements of the governor, stated that Umahi’s administration has blossomed in Infrastructure and human capital development.
He said Nigerians have reasons to celebrate this year, especially, those from Ebonyi state and its residents, adding that the state today is celebrating a world class shopping mall, international market, ecumenical centre, beautiful water fountains, highest number of flyovers after Abuja and Lagos and Africa’s biggest light tunnel that beats the imagination of the best Engineers of the World.
“…We also thank God for the modest achievements of the Divine mandate administration of His Excellency, Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi FNSE, FNATE (Akubaraoha), Governor of Ebonyi State and Chairman of South East Governors’ Forum, especially for the socio-economic renaissance and ethical rebirth which are the hallmarks of his administration.
“As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are invited to reflect on our common history as a people, the shared values of gratitude, peace and love and the strong moral character of steadfastness and forthrightness which our people are known for.
“Let us emphasize that which unites and strengthens our bonds and dreams of achieving a prosperous state, which God through the gracious instrumentality of Governor Umahi is anchoring to the Glory of His Holy name. Through the power of God, our dear Governor has built a new Ebonyi State that blossoms in Infrastructure and human capital development.
“Today in Nigeria, we are the best in good road network, we have a world class shopping mall, international market, ecumenical centre, beautiful water fountains, highest number of flyovers after Abuja and Lagos and Africa’s biggest light tunnel that beats the imagination of the best Engineers of the World. We are emerging as the State with the biggest and most modern International airport and stadium in the South East.
“Today, we have the best classroom blocks and motivational facilities for our teachers. Our King David Academy and Vocational College are the spring board for the mental development of our gifted children, entrepreneurs, craftsmen, artisans and technicians. We are building the most formidable health facilities in Africa with the construction of the College of Medicine, Hospital Emergency Complex, Virology Centre, School of Nursing and Midwifery and numerous primary and secondary Health Care facilities
“We have a network of effectively functioning streetlight system that cuts across the urban and rural areas. We have got Africa’s most beautiful Government House and masses- oriented housing projects. Today our fertilizer blending plant and rice milling plants have been enhanced to support agricultural mechanization and commercialization.
” Ebonyi State today is an investment destination and emerging tourism hub of Nigeria with the most formidable security architecture and best attitude of its inhabitants. We shall continue to give praise to God and uphold Him as the author of Governor Umahi’s administration as we honour the first family for being God’s instrument for the new narrative in Ebonyi State.
” While we welcome our brothers and sisters to the state of their dream and visitors who want to spend their Christmas holiday in Africa’s fastest growing state, we urge them all to feel free to enjoy the conviviality of our environment and the hospitality of our people. We further enjoin them to observe all traffic regulations and protocols on social gatherings.
” We give special thanks and warm felicitations to our dear Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi and his dear wife and compassionate mother of Ebonyi State, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Rachael Ogonna Umahi (Ogoo nwanyi) for the monumental services they have rendered to our dear state and for drawing us nearer to God through praise and worship.
