Agu 3 of Ishiagu Autonomous Community, in Ivo local government area of Ebonyi State, His Royal Highness, Eze Moses Okafor Ngele, has reversed alleged High Court judgement, following a leadership crisis that recently engulfed Amaeze community.

Eze in- Council of the Agu 3 of Ishiagu, during their peace meeting with the affected community and stakeholders of Ishiagu, in a 5 -point decision delivered by the Agu 3 of Ishiagu Autonomous Community, affirmed Mr. John Okorie, as the substantive Chairman of Amaeze Community Development Union.

Following the decision of the Eze in- Council, the tenure of Mr John Okorie, as Chairman of Amaeze Community Development Union will expire in August, 2023.

The High Court judgement in suit no HSK/3/2018 dated 24th March, 2021 as gathered, was ruled in favor of one Okoro Uchenna Paul, as the Development Union Chairman of Amaeze community.

However, Agu 3, described the said judgement as fake, stating that it was the immediate cause of the crisis in Amaeze community that led to the killing of 3 persons and other needless attacks on the people of the area.

He warned politicians to desist from meddling in the leadership tussle of the community.

According to their ruling: “Mr. John Okorie has been affirmed the substantive Chairman of Amaeze Community Development Union.

“This position was made by the Eze in- Council of the Agu 3 of Ishiagu during their peace meeting with the affected community and stakeholders of Ishiagu.

“In a 5 -point decision delivered by the Agu 3 of Ishiagu Autonomous Community, His Royal Highness, Eze Moses Okafor Ngele, the Eze In-Council, noted that they have not seen any merit in the claims that the High Court of Justice under His Lordship, Hon Justice Uwabunkeonye Onwosi, PhD, gave judgement in favour of Mr. Okoro Uchenna Paul (Alias Akachukwu) in suit no HSK/3/2018 dated 24th March, 2021.

“That it was this false claim of having court judgement in favour of Okoro Uchenna Paul, that is the immediate cause of the crisis in Amaeze that led to the killing of 3 persons and other needless attacks on the people of Amaeze community.

“That it is our decision therefore, that in the interest of Justice and to ensure that no undue advantage is taken by any hamlet or group in Amaeze community, Mr. John Okorie, shall be allowed and is hereby allowed to complete the 3 years tenure as zoned to his hamlet.

“The Eze In-Council had invited all the parties to the conflict at Amaeze community and the stakeholders from Ishiagu to a meeting at Agu 3’s palace to determine the leadership claims of the warring parties.

“It was discovered in the meeting that the problem in Amaeze community was masterminded by some politicians who brandished false judgment that triggered crisis that led to the killing of 3 persons in the area”.
