Sit at home: there’s exodus of local, foreign investors from southeast- Ohaneze

The Engr. Chidi-Ibeh led Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Monday, disclosed that local and foreign investors in the southeast are relocating their businesses in the last two months from the zone following the Indigenous People of Biafra’s incessant sit at home orders.

Secretary-General of the apex Igbo group, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, made the disclosure in a released made available to our correspondent in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.

He said exiting of these investors was creating a high level of unemployment, loss of jobs and disruption of the academic calendar.

Isiguzoro maintained that the sit at home has destroyed the academic activities in Southeast as well as small businesses and artisans who depend on day-to-day trade and services to feed their households.

The Secretary-General, noted that their findings revealed that the advocates of sit at home are envoys out to destroy the only remaining assets of Ndigbo, which is commerce.

He said that the sit at home order was conceived to obliterate investment by the elites and politicians in southeast.

The group called for dialogue between internally displaced Igbo politicians and the people especially to end the revolt against the elites.

“IPOB leaders don’t have any visible investments in the southeast, they are only using Ndigbo as pawns against the Igbo political class especially as regards the Anambra elections.

“The consequences of their actions might be detrimental and pernicious to the point where Federal Government would eventually deploy the Super Tuscon Fighter Jets to the southeast in pretense to quell the fallout from the one week Sit at Home.

” Ndigbo should henceforth break from the local siege of advocates of Sit at home without Investments in the southeast”.

“We are aware of the fact that Federal Government has treated South Easterners in bad morality and faith, we can’t afford to resort to paths of self destruction and affiliation with the people who remote Ndigbo from overseas.

“Proponents of Sit at Home are not observing the Sit at home abroad where they are residents in Asia, Europe, and America, Ndigbo are wiser than before. No more sit at home, we are in support of out of court settlements that will make Nnamdi Kanu regain his freedom, not through absurd enslavement of the people,” he added.
